PRIVACY POLICY

Statement on confidentiality of personal data (updated July 2023)

When the BCV TWINT application is installed and used, third parties will need to access, process, communicate, and use some of customers' personal and confidential data so that the application can operate properly and as intended.

BCV, its partners, and their subcontractors, if any, shall comply with all legal requirements pertaining to data processing and protection.

The personal data concerned include: first and last name, date of birth, gender, place of residence, smartphone number, and the account number to be debited or credited (only the last four digits of the account number will be visible).

BCV attaches great importance to data protection. The agreements that BCV has with its partner for the transmission and use of personal data all comply with Swiss data protection legislation, in particular the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the Federal Ordinance on Data Protection (FODP), and the Federal Banking Act.

In addition, BCV offers added-value services via the BCV TWINT app. These include the presentation of coupons, customer loyalty cards, and other added-value services via the BCV TWINT app, where the customer can consult, manage, and use them. BCV can offer added-value services by itself, in conjunction with third parties, or only from third parties. The presentation, display, management, and use of added-value services offered only from third parties requires that customers opt in, i.e., give their express consent, in the BCV TWINT app and thus explicitly agree to receive these offers from third parties.

Customers agree that the circumstances of the business relationship and their personal data may be communicated, made available, or transmitted to third parties and other beneficiaries if necessary for the proper operation of the BCV TWINT application and the provision of the associated added-value services.

Customers agree that their personal data may be communicated to third parties if necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of BCV and its contractual partners for the BCV TWINT service. This shall apply, in particular, in instances in which BCV is required to meet statutory obligations to provide information, for the collection of receivables, and in the event of a legal dispute.

With this confidentiality statement and the conditions set forth in the General Terms & Conditions for the Use of BCV TWINT, customers are hereby informed of the collection, processing, communication, and use of their personal data when they use the BCV TWINT application.

By proceeding with the installation of the BCV TWINT application, customers accept these conditions of use, in particular Section 4 on data protection
