Gold bars bought over the counter at BCV are inscribed with an ID number. You can use that number to find the mine your gold came from on the Fairtrade Max Havelaar website.
For bars and ingots weighing 50, 100, 250, or 500 grams or 1 kilogram, we offer traceable gold that meets ESG criteria set by BCV.
This gold comes from large-scale mines (LSMs) and is purchased from Swiss refiners that are members of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). We select mining companies based on an ESG assessment and require that the ore be refined on a separate production line to enable maximum transparency from the mine all the way through to the end customer. Each gold bar and ingot is certified and can be fully traced.
Upon request, we can provide the name of the mine your gold bar or ingot came from.
