Making it about more than just banking: BCV in the Vaud community

BCV has been an active member of the Vaud community for over 175 years. We allocate around 2% of the Bank’s net profit to sponsorships and donations every year. Supporting over 650 sports, cultural, community, and environmental organizations and events across the canton. Benchmark employer

BCV is dedicated to creating workplace equality, promoting diversity, and offering the same opportunities to all staff. Every BCV employee receives a benefits package that equals, and in many cases exceeds, the requirements of the Agreement on Conditions of Employment for Bank Employees (CPB), which is the minimum standard for working conditions in the Swiss banking industry. For instance, we offer a daycare center, adoption leave, part-time working, sabbatical leave, unpaid leave, and support for sports and fitness activities.

We encourage our employees to further develop their skills through an array of continuing education opportunities. Our training center – the only one of its kind in Vaud Canton – delivered the equivalent of 5,500 employee training days in 2020, 2,500 of which were distance learning. At end-2020, we had provided job training for 85 trainees, including apprentices and high school graduates.

In 2021, an external team of experts conducted a salary audit and found that BCV meets Swiss federal requirements on equal pay between men and women. We were also awarded the Fair-ON-Pay certification, which recognizes the Bank’s equal pay practices over the long term.
