Now that you’ve finished school, it’s time to kick-start your career. When you do an apprenticeship at BCV, you’ll get a solid foundation for the future. Don’t wait – now’s the time!
 

  • Three years

  •  Diploma: Swiss Federal Diploma in banking (with or without a high-school diploma)

  • Training provided at Challenge Your Potential (CYP), a center of banking expertise

Hands-on training

As an apprentice, you’ll start learning the ropes by working in one of our branch offices. You’ll be assigned to various front-office positions, where you’ll come into contact with our customers, as well as back-office positions, where you’ll help keep the gears running smoothly. Here’s what’s in store:
 

  • First year: you’ll work in reception, at the bank counter, and in advisory services


  • Second year: you’ll work in both private banking advisory and retail advisory services


  • Third year: you’ll work in SME advisory services

 

Throughout this time, you’ll also be taking outside classes one or two days a week.

You’ll also participate in CYP training courses alongside employees of other banks to further expand your knowledge of the banking sector.

And if you’re interested and qualify, you’ll have the opportunity to do a language exchange for six to 12 months.

 

During your apprenticeship at BCV, you’ll play a key role in welcoming our customers and putting them in contact with the right experts. You’ll also be called on to share your financial expertise with them and help them with their online banking needs.

Bank advisor

After getting your Swiss Federal Diploma in banking, you can embark on a career as a bank advisor. You’ll be responsible for welcoming customers, guiding them through our branches, and showing them the key features of our digital banking systems and ATMs. You’ll also speak with customers to pinpoint their needs and advise them on our broad range of banking products, referring them to experts when necessary.
 

Management assistant

After completing your apprenticeship, you may decide to become a management assistant. In this role, you’ll support our advisors and play a critical role in handling administrative matters and expanding our customer base. You’ll also ensure customer portfolios are managed smoothly, following up where necessary. Your duties will include helping to prepare reports, generate statistics, and handle correspondence, working with your regional manager.

Lending specialist

Lending specialists play a central role in ensuring our loan processes are efficient. You’ll be in charge of entering loan application data based on information provided by BCV advisors and analysts. You’ll also monitor data quality, manage various lending procedures – such as requesting information, disbursing funds, and overseeing collateral – and implement loan reimbursements and cancellations.

Customer administration officer

With your Swiss Federal Diploma in hand, you’ll be qualified to become a customer administration officer at BCV. In this role, you’ll respond to customers who contact our advisors, answering their questions and processing their requests. Your job will include offering personalized services tailored to customers’ needs. In addition, you’ll manage a customer portfolio with the goal of expanding the business relationship.

Remote bank advisor

Our team of remote bank advisors is instrumental in giving customers the modern, connected services they’ve come to expect. As part of this team, you’ll support our efforts to continuously improve our remote banking processes. You’ll respond to customers’ requests about our core banking products by phone, email, and instant messaging. Drawing on your know-how, you’ll address customers’ needs and make sure they’re comfortable using our online and mobile banking systems.
 

Services and administration commercial employee apprenticeship

During this apprenticeship, you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with our occupational pension specialists. By spending time on our various teams, you’ll learn the ins and outs of the field. Your tasks will include managing the administrative side of things for our insured members, as well as pension-related accounting and advisory services. Throughout this time, you’ll also be taking outside classes one or two days a week. To round things out, you’ll participate in training courses alongside employees of other banks to further expand your knowledge of the banking sector. And if you’re interested and qualify, you’ll have the opportunity to do a language exchange for six to 12 months.

 

The mission of our occupational pensions department is to ensure our pension fund members have an accurate view of their current and projected finances. We do that by providing pension coverage for their employees. When you do an apprenticeship with BCV, you’ll develop the skills you need to excel in this field.

Job opportunities

Once you complete your apprenticeship, you’ll have a number of careers to choose from in the field of occupational pensions.
You could become a pension plan manager, for example, where you’ll be in charge of administering insured members’ pension-fund accounts. You’ll work with members, from when they first sign up for a pension plan to when they get promoted and eventually change employers or retire. You’ll also handle voluntary contributions, retirement benefits, disability benefits, withdrawals for home downpayments, and more. And you’ll be involved in administrative tasks such as billing, inventory, and correspondence with companies about contribution payments.
There are opportunities for you in other BCV business lines, too. But since this apprenticeship is specifically within the occupational pensions department, it’s designed to orient you towards a career in this area.

Hands-on training

We offer three apprenticeships in IT:

Application
developer

Over the course of this four-year program, you’ll acquire crucial skills in the field of application development. Using your experience in coding, you’ll be trained to develop new software applications. You’ll also be called on to share your know-how and train users on new applications.

IT
specialist

During this three-year program, you’ll learn all about installing computers and getting them up and running. You’ll also be responsible for getting different devices connected to the network, including laptops and printers, and for resolving technical problems. As an IT support specialist, you’ll be in high demand among everyone who uses any type of IT equipment.

Operations and
infrastructure specialist

In this four-year program, you’ll learn to design and manage physical and virtual server systems, while also providing related services and handling maintenance. You’ll also be responsible for planning, setting up, configuring, and monitoring LANs and, more broadly, for network security, uptime, and performance.

Throughout this time, you’ll also be taking outside classes one or two days a week. And to round things out, you’ll participate in training courses alongside employees of other banks to further expand your knowledge of the banking sector.

In our application developer apprenticeship, you’ll learn the skills required to identify user needs and design effective software and interfaces, drawing on your knowledge of computer languages, coding, and development platforms. Your role will include making sure BCV’s applications and interfaces are secure and implementing applications on their respective platforms and ensuring they run smoothly.
 

IT specialist

Our IT specialist apprenticeship will equip you with the skills you need to provide various kinds of tech support. As an IT specialist, you’ll be in charge of setting up workstations and all the associated hardware and software – operating systems, applications, antivirus programs, and more. You’ll review tech support requests and assist users when new applications are installed. A key part of your job will be to inform users about essential data-protection and IT-security measures, which will help ensure BCV’s systems are secure and remain fully operational.
 

Operations and infrastructure

Our operations and infrastructure apprenticeship will prepare you for a role in developing IT systems suited to BCV’s requirements. Your responsibilities will include setting up, configuring, and upgrading computer networks while making sure they keep running smoothly. You’ll also be responsible for server maintenance with a focus on reliability and security. Your efforts will be essential for giving BCV customers and employees high-performing IT systems that they can count on.
