Blocking another TWINT user

Updated on 04 November 2024

Misuse of the “Send money” feature in TWINT

Do you receive repeated requests from an unknown number asking you to send money? Or, when you send or receive money, does another TWINT user bother you or send you inappropriate content via the message feature?

How to block another TWINT user’s phone number

To keep that person from bothering you further, you can call BCV and ask to have the person’s phone number blocked. You do not have to provide any explanation for your request, and it will not require the other person’s consent. The other person’s bank will be informed of the block, but your identity will never be divulged (only the identifier linked to your BCV TWINT account, which is used for technical purposes, will be shared).

TWINT SA will then ensure that the person in question cannot send you money or request money from you via any TWINT application registered with the number you have blocked.

Please note that the person will only be blocked from interacting with your current BCV TWINT account. If you delete your account and create a new one, you will have to request that the person be blocked again.

You can also request to unblock people you have previously blocked.
