Payments
Under Switzerland's new payment transfer system, one standard messaging system will be used, and all banks will require the same information for payments.
The ISO 20022 standard also covers message formats to help automate the reconciliation of your accounts.
Highlights
- Payment formats will be changed and brought into line with ISO 20022.
- Your accounting software must be updated so that it supports the new PAIN and CAMT formats.
- These formats allow for a more automated payment process, making your accounting that much simpler.
- From 2020, the IBAN will be the only type of account number used in banking transactions. You can already update your invoicing system accordingly.
The new message formats
Under the standardized payment system, two new message formats will be used for banks and their customers to communicate.
- The PAIN format for payment orders
- The CAMT format for invoices
