The Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) is a reporting standard established by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) aimed at reducing tax evasion. It enables the tax authorities in participating countries to obtain financial information about their taxpayers' accounts abroad. Switzerland will apply the AEOI to foreign taxpayers, and on 1 January 2017, banks in Switzerland began gathering the necessary information for the AEOI.
BCV has published a flyer with more information about the AEOI and its implementation in Switzerland.
As of 1 January 2016, the flat monthly fee charged for BCV’s Direct and Classic banking packs will incorporate the annual fee for the Maestro card. This simple restructuring will not affect the total amount of fees paid per year (i.e., the sum of the flat monthly fees plus the fee for the Maestro card).
Taking the Direct banking pack as an example, this means that customers will pay a monthly fee of CHF 3.50 rather than a monthly fee of CHF 1 plus an annual fee of CHF 30 for the Maestro card. The full-year amount is the same, i.e., CHF 42.
These fees are waived for customers with assets of CHF 10,000 or more with BCV. And customers who sign up for a new Direct or Classic banking pack with a Maestro card will not be charged these fees for the first six months.
For the Premium banking pack, the flat monthly fee of CHF 18 will not change but it will henceforth include the fee for the Maestro card.
In addition, all holders of a BCV Maestro card can take advantage of special prices on a variety of activities in Vaud Canton as part of the BCV Extra campaign.
