We work with some 500 institutional investors

BCV is one of Switzerland's top-rated institutional asset managers and has asset-management operations in both Lausanne and Zurich. The team comprises more than 120 experts from a range of backgrounds and manages assets and liabilities all under the same roof. Their work includes developing cutting-edge management techniques and risk-management tools, designing and selling innovative products, and advising clients.

Long-term returns

Decisions are taken twice monthly, and tactical asset allocations are based on BCV's macroeconomic scenario. We allocate investments between asset classes on the basis of a top-down analysis. The investment approach is then harmonized using model portfolios. We use the core-satellite technique to control deviations from the benchmark investment universe and limit risk, making particular use of decorrelated management styles. Our high-quality operational structure means that the portfolios we manage show limited dispersion of returns.

Risk management and transparency are central to our investment process. We are looking to achieve stable long-term returns through a combination of investment techniques.

Consistency and sustainability

BCV’s Asset Management team has over 40 years of experience in managing assets for pension funds and other institutional investors, using an investment approach that focuses on risk-adjusted returns. If you join this team, whether in discretionary or advisory management, you will work with 40 fund managers responsible for some 60 BCV funds that invest in an array of asset classes, from equities and bonds to commodities and alternative investments. If you are familiar with advanced techniques – such as semi-active and active management, and asymmetric risk management – we offer a range of opportunities in both advisory and investment-management roles.

I split my work time between BCV and the Lausanne business school where I’ve been teaching macroeconomics and financial management for ten years. As a result of the close ties between these two organizations, BCV co-developed the model for its Liquid Alternative Beta fund (see video) with Eric Jondeau, a professor at the business school.
