Frequently asked questions

What measures is BCV taking to support customers during the pandemic?

At BCV we are taking this situation very seriously and have introduced a series of measures – you can find a list of our latest coronavirus-related press releases below. For instance, we have temporarily suspended the loan payments due at 31 March 2020 and 30 June 2020 for the Canton’s small businesses.

Our top priority is to provide the people of Vaud with uninterrupted banking services while keeping our customers and employees safe. As part of this, we will continue to share clear and up-to-date information with you.

Is BCV following the federal government’s recommendations to curb the spread of the coronavirus?

We are following the instructions and recommendations issued by the federal government as well as the Federal Office of Public Health and the Vaud cantonal government. Employees are working remotely whenever possible, and we have modified the working hours and office arrangements for those who must be on site. These employees are kept at a distance of at least 2 meters (including those who work in open spaces). We have also instructed employees to follow personal protection recommendations, such as washing their hands often and regularly cleaning door handles.

Will BCV branches remain open?

33 of our branches will remain open, from 9am–11:30pm and 2pm–4:30pm. They all offer counter services and have glass panels separating advisors and customers. However, access to safes is temporarily suspended in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

What options do I have if I don’t want to go to a branch?

Many banking transactions can be carried out on BCV-net and BCV Mobile – you can view your account balances, make payments, consult your transaction histories, and contact us through the secure messaging service. Our Customer Service Center is also available.

Will BCV ATMs remain open?

We suggest you stay at home and use one of our remote banking options. However, if you must withdraw cash, our 200+ ATMs across Vaud will remain open 24-7. Cash withdrawals and deposits are free for BCV customers.

What other payment methods are available if I don’t want to use cash?

You can make payments using your credit or debit card, by making a wire transfer on BCV-net or BCV Mobile, or using BCV TWINT, which has a feature that lets you make online purchases.

Can I still call the Customer Service Center if I have a question? If so, have its opening hours changed?

Our Customer Service Center will remain open at its regular hours: 7:30am to 7:30pm for retail customers; from 7:30am to 6pm for business customers; and from 7:30am to 10pm for TradeDirect customers.
