Switzerland's existing payment system comprises many different standards, procedures, and formats. For example, there are seven different varieties of the Swiss payment slip alone. The aim of the changeover is to create a uniform payment system for all payment types and parties involved, so that transactions are easier and more straightforward.
- Payment messages will be standardized and contain more information.
- The LSV direct debit system will be improved and combined with an e-billing system.
- The existing red (BV) and orange (BVR) payment slips will be replaced by a single type of slip containing payment details in the form of a QR code and the IBAN of the account to be credited.
Payment slips QR bills will replace the red and orange payment slips.
Debits The e-billing and LSV direct debit systems will be combined.

In Switzerland, the changeover will be completed by mid-2021, using a step-by-step process to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible. At BCV, we have begun gradually moving to the new payment system.
