Encryption

To ensure the confidentiality of data sent during an e-banking session, BCV uses an SSL 256-bit certificate. This certificate also checks that your PC is connected to BCV's server.

By clicking on the padlock icon at the bottom of your screen or to the side of the address bar on your internet browser, you can check the validity of the certificate and the name of the site that requested it (i.e. www.bcv.ch for BCV).

Users of Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 can also see that their connection is secure when the address bar turns green:
