More than 10,000 BCV-net users are now logging on using the text message authentication code

More and more BCV-net users are opting for more security and mobility, with over 10,000 people now logging on using the text message authentication code.

Each time you log in to either BCV-net or e-SIDER.COM, you will receive a temporary security code via text message, which you use to authenticate your log-in. That way, you don’t need to use the BCV Access Card. Your user ID and password do not change.

Here are some of the benefits of text message authentication:

  • The six-digit security code is only used once. The number of possible combinations of the six-digit code is higher than on the BCV Access Card, which offers 100 combinations, some of which may be reused during the card’s lifetime.
  • When you make payments with BCV-net, payment details are texted to you for final validation of the beneficiary, the amount and the currency in which the payment is to be made. The text message also contains a payment confirmation code that you then type into your computer to validate the payment.
  • In the event that you lose your mobile phone or if it is stolen, access to your accounts is blocked more quickly than with the BCV Access Card. All you need to do is disable your mobile phone’s SIM in order to block all access to BCV-net.
  • It’s easier to lose your BCV Access Card than your mobile phone. In addition, there is always the danger that your Access Card could be photocopied without your knowing. Using text messages eliminates this risk.
  • There is no charge for receiving text messages in Switzerland or abroad.
  • Using text message authentication is easy: all you need to do is enter the code you see on your mobile.

Changing to text message authentication is easy. All you need to do is log in to BCV-net, click on the text messages tab, and follow the instructions.
