The General Shareholders' Meeting of BCV has been postponed

On 17 April 2002, the Vaud Cantonal Goverment (Conseil d'Etat vaudois) announced that it had decided to replace BCV's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Gilbert Duchoud, by Mr Alain Hirsch. Following this decision, it seemed appropriate to give the new Chairman time to settle in his new functions before holding the General Shareholders' Meeting, as the Chairman plays an important role in its preparation and chairing. Moreover, the proposed change in external auditors has been put in question by the recently announced merger between Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. This issue must be resolved before the official invitation to the Shareholders' Meeting is made public.

It has therefore been decided to change the date of the General Shareholders' Meeting from 23 May to 26 June 2002, 4 p.m., in the Palais de Beaulieu, Lausanne.
